FEN EĞİTİMİNDE ELEŞTİREL DÜŞÜNME BECERİSİ: BİBLİYOMETRİK ANALİZ

CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS IN SCIENCE EDUCATION: A BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS

Authors

Abstract

This study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the scientific literature on critical thinking skills in science education through bibliometric analysis and to guide future research. Data were retrieved from the Web of Science database and limited to English-language articles, reviews, and early access publications published between 2010 and 2026. The study selection process was reported using a PRISMA flow diagram. Analyses were conducted with Biblioshiny, the web interface of the R-based bibliometrix package. A total of 422 publications were examined in terms of annual publication trends, growth rate, citation patterns, thematic structure, changes in keywords over time, country and institutional productivity, author and journal profiles, collaboration networks, and the characteristics of highly cited studies. The findings showed a marked increase in publications during 2024–2025, with the highest output in 2025. The United States was the most productive country, while Türkiye ranked third. Recent themes included STEM, artificial intelligence, argumentation, scientific literacy, and student engagement.

Keywords: critical thinking, bibliometric analysis, science education

Bu araştırmanın amacı, fen eğitimi alanında eleştirel düşünme becerisiyle ilgili yayımlanmış makaleleri bibliyometrik analiz yöntemiyle inceleyerek fen eğitimindeki eleştirel düşünme becerisi üzerine yapılan bilimsel çalışmaların yapısını bütüncül biçimde ortaya koymak ve gelecek araştırmalara yön vermektir. Araştırmada betimsel model kullanılmıştır. Veriler, Web of Science (WoS) veri tabanından 2010–2026 döneminde İngilizce yayımlanan Article, Review ve Early Access türündeki çalışmalarla sınırlandırılarak elde edilmiştir.
