Abstract

OPINIONS OF 5TH GRADE SCIENCE COURSE STUDENTS ON FLIPPED CLASSROOM MODEL

In this study, it is aimed to determine the opinions of 5th grade students about Science course (SC) based on the Flipped Classroom Model (FCM). In the conducted study, case study design which is one of the qualitative research approach was adopted. The study group consists of 25 volunteer students selected from by the purposeful sampling method Purposeful sampling method which is one of the non-random sampling types. Edpuzzle training platform has been used in FCM to access interactive video lessons. Semi-structured open-ended questions in the form of videos were asked online to determine the opinions of the students who experienced the SC based on FCM. When the qualitative data obtained were evaluated together, it was found that FCM is an entertaining and interesting educational application that helps students to learn, increases their interest in the course, provides effective use of technology. In order to visualize the views of the participating students experiencing FCM, the model of effects of FCM applications from the eyes of students (MEFES) was developed in line with the data obtained by the researcher.

Keywords: Edpuzzle, flipped classroom model, opinions of students, science course.
